Hubby and I arrived in San Francisco a couple of days ago to visit daughter Danica and her family.
Yesterday was his birthday. My gift was a gourmet style meal. What fun for me!
Danica and I strolled the aisles of Trader Joes as I oohed and ahhed over specialty items. “I’ll try one of these and a little of that. Maybe we’ll throw this into the mix as well.” You cannot imagine the creative impulses that were released in a market with foods that are not common to my everyday world.
The result was a meal that my son-in-law declared the best meal I ever prepared, worthy of being served at the finest restaurants. Oh, hubby loved it, too! I’ll tell more about the ingredients later. For now, here are the results:
Oh wow! I missed the best meal you ever served?!?!
Looks Great Lovely Pictures!! Happy Belated Birthday!! (Now, I’m waiting for the recipe!) :)
P.S. @Danica-where did you get those lovely dishes???
Hi Darlene :) What a fun celebration! I am looking forward to the recipe details, too. Love, Q
@Brietta - LOL! That is a wonderful definition of a “crying shame”, wouldn’t you say?
Is anyone else curious what’s in the wrapped package? ;)
I am blessed by the picture of you two! BTW….I think your nose is red :)
Trader Joes…one of my favorite stores when I visit my brother in CA. The meal looks wonderful. I’m hungry now.
@Randi: The dishes are Fiesta Ware, a gift Ryan received from his mother several years ago. They are pretty, aren’t they?
Such lovely pictures! Thanks for brightening my day with your happy faces. :-)
